Very few people know the true history of Ko Hsuan and why the different areas have such interesting names. Now for the first time we reveal the true history of Ko Hsuan!
Meera Hall - This was originally "Mirror Hall" because when the building was discovered the walls in this area were totally covered by mirrors. And the ceilings too! Why? We don't know! It's a mystery!
Meera Landing - Named after "Mirror Hall". When the original teachers were looking for a place to put Ko Hsuan, this whole area of England was covered in forest so they used a helicopter to search for the right building. When they finally saw what was to become "Ko Hsuan" it had no roof, so the helicopter came down through the trees and landed on the floor, now known as "Meera Landing".
Buddha - When a German teacher walked into this classroom for the first time he found crates of butter stacked to the ceiling. "Ja!" he yelled. "Butta!"
The Barn - While this seems obvious, like so many English names it means something different from what you think. There was a teacher at the beginning who had a speech impediment - he kept adding "nnnn" to the end of every sentence. This part of Ko Hsuan had been a pub for hundreds of years, and it still was for a while, so at the end of a hard working day when this teacher was finished, he would say, "Stuff thisNN! I'm going to the barNNN!"
Mandir Hall - They didn't know what to name this new part of the building after it was finished until the kids woke up one day to find a stag eating a bag of crisps in the hall. "Hey!" yelled one kid. "A man deer!"
Bankei - Don't ask!
